Opportunities to serve in SLE

We believe that Bible passages like Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Peter 2:9 and 1 Peter 4:10 give rise to what's often known as the 'every-member ministry model'. This is to say, it's not just the paid Pastor who's supposed to serve God's kingdom and God's people, but every Christian! God has gifted each of His people through His Spirit with gifts which are to be used 'for the common good' of the church (1 Corinthians 12:7). 

Hence we make it our aim to equip and mobilise each Christian member of our congregation (as well as willing non-Christians) to serve in at least one ministry area - whether small or big, hidden or public! It's a great opportunity to bless each other and be blessed, not to mention being a great help to the Pastor!

Practically speaking, because we have a highly-transient population of students as part of our congregation, there are always opportunities opening up to step into a farewelled member's shoes and serve. And the beginning of each Uni year particularly affords an abundance of opportunities! Here's the current list for 2009 (you can also see it on our SLE blog).
